7 Days Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari
Join our 7 Days Uganda Safari for an opportunity of experiencing a slice of everything Uganda offers with mountain gorilla trekking, classic game viewing adventure, chimpanzee treks and cultural tours. This Trip involves visiting Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks for game drives through savannah plains, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the endangered gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
Day 1: Travel into Uganda, via Entebbe International Airport
Meet and greet with our professional tour guide for the 7 days Uganda Safari upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to a Hotel in Kampala/or Entebbe. On this day you will need to rest from the jet lag and prepare everything you need for the road trip on day 2.
Day 2: Leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
Leave the Capital early in the morning to avoid getting caught in the traffic and be able to arrive Queen Elizabeth National Park on-time for the afternoon activity. This 6-7 hours’ journey comes with a number of interesting things such as stopovers for photography (such as Uganda Equator) and leg stretching. Pass through the en-route Towns of Masaka, Lyantonde, Mbarara and Bushenyi where views of tea estates as well as that of Kalinzu forest will be relished. Arrive Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon for the boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, connecting Lakes Edward and George. Expect to see Hippos, Nile crocodile and elephants along the banks alongside water and wetland bird species. Rest and dine at one of the outstanding accommodation facilities.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge and game drive.
Early in the morning we drive to Kyambura Gorge where we head into the narrow underground forest to search for the habituated chimpanzee troops that call this lush forest home. The trek for chimpanzees here is less hectic like other places such as Kibale forest, Budongo forest and Semliki National Park hence lasts about 1-2 hours and involves encountering other primate species such as olive baboons, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and L’Hoests monkeys among others. Return back to the Lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon undertake a game drive that will introduce to the views of the elephants, Cape buffaloes, warthogs, Topis, duikers, bushbucks and many others converging at the water sources.
Day 4: Early morning game drive and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector
The early morning game drive increases chances of encountering other wildlife species of the Park such as leopards, spotted hyenas, lions, Hippos, warthogs, bushbucks and many others. Drive towards Ishasha sector and get there in the afternoon when the tree climbing lions are actively relaxing on fig tree branches and later have lunch at Savannah Resort (Kanungu). Continue with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the jaw-dropping landscapes, terraced hills and forests arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest and relaxation at shores of Lake Bunyonyi
Have breakfast and enjoy the highlight of the 7 days Uganda Safari-mountain gorilla trekking. Make sure that you have all the necessary trekking gear for the unforgettable time with mountain gorillas. First attend briefing at the Park Headquarters and later follow the lead of the expert Ranger guides who will identify the different encountered attractions in the Park and this lasts 1-4 hours before the allocated gorilla family is finally spotted. Spend one hour in their presence and get back to the Lodge for Lunch before proceeding to Lake Bunyonyi.
The drive to Lake Bunyonyi is filled with magnificent sceneries and on getting there, relax at the shores or swim in the Bilharzia, crocodile and Hippo-free waters of this beautiful Lake. Overnight at the Hotel or Resort overlooking the waters of Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 6: Continue to Lake Mburo National Park for game viewing
Breakfast and leave the incredible Lake Bunyonyi for a drive to Lake Mburo National Park with beautiful sceneries and get there by lunchtime. You will come across Topis, common warthogs, Burchell’s zebras, impalas, Cape buffaloes and bushbucks while driving to the Lodge and in the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where more aquatic animals such as Hippos and Nile crocodiles will be encountered.
Day 7: Early morning game drive/walking safari and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe
Kick off the day with breakfast and later game drive/walking safari where leopards, impalas, Cape buffaloes, Defassa waterbucks, Rothschild giraffes, common elands, Burchell’s zebras, bushbucks, duikers, spotted hyenas and olive baboons as well as birds will make your safari complete. Return for an early lunch and leave for Kampala, in a 3-4 hours’ journey. This marks the end of our 7 days Uganda Safari.
