6 Days Uganda Family Safari

These 6 days thrilling wildlife safari takes you to some of Uganda’s most visited National parks and a medley of wonders, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Uganda’s Oldest national park and home to the most powerful waterfalls on earth; Murchison Falls. The park is at the edge of Albertine rift valley, where it hosts a profusion of wildlife species, birds and mammals.

Queen Elizabeth national park is situated in western Uganda, at the backdrop of the giant snowcapped Mount. Rwenzori. Expect an encounter with lions, leopards, several antelope species, elephants and Buffaloes among others. You will do game drives, boat cruises, bird watching and a Kampala city tour.

The other destination will be Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will spend an hour tracking the Rhino species in Uganda; a few of the only surviving species in the worlds known as the white rhinos.

Detailed Trip.

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour.

First day of the 6 days Uganda safaris, you will arrive and be welcomed by our experienced driver-guide at Kampala or Entebbe international airport. If your flight arrives early, then the next thing will be having a tour around Kampala city, as you will visit the local markets and the Uganda Museum to mention but a few. After a city tour, gladly proceed to your hotel for dinner and a peaceful Nap.

Day 2: Rhino trekking and transfer to Murchison Falls National park.

Today you start with delicious breakfast meal at the lodge, thereafter checkout for a 5-6 hour epic drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary at Nakasongola district for a one-hour rhino trekking. Rhinos are members of Africa’s Big 5 family, apparently only found in this sanctuary in Uganda.

Other attractions to look out for are verdant plantations, undulating hills and rocky landscapes all the way to the park. Lunch will be before Masindi town at Kabalega diners, whereas upon arrival at the gate, register and proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive, boat cruise and top of the falls visit.

Start your day very early in the morning with a transfer to the northern part of the park where you will spend approximately 3-4 hours exploring the prey and predators in their natural habitat; notably, warthogs, Uganda Kobs, Zebras, Buffaloes, leopards, lions, zebras and giraffes among others; birds such as the Guinea fowls, crested cranes and the Egyptian geese; flora and so much more.

The landscape is so attractive and unmatched. You will follow the game drive with late bush breakfast meal in the wilderness, before returning to the lodge for a rest and yummy dinner meal.

From 14:00 hours to 17:00 hours, you will go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, the world’s most powerful waterfall on earth as it squeezes in about a 7-meter gorge. Listen to the thundering sounds, while taking photos and listen to the tour guide’s explanations. Other creatures to look out for during the search include the crocodiles, aquatic birds, elephants and giant Nile crocodiles.

Finish and proceed to the top of the fall with a drive or hike through the devils’ cauldron to the summit where you will take photos, admire waterfalls and a permanent rainbow. End the day with dinner and a peaceful nap.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will check out for a transfer to the Medley of Wonders, Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will exit with an exciting drive to the park, enjoying captivating views of the landscape, breathtaking landscape and scattered homesteads.

You will have a stopover in the tourism city of Uganda, Fort Portal for refreshing lunch meal. Thereafter proceed to your lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise.

On this day, leave the lodge for Kasenyi savannah area very early in the morning to catch up with early grazers and night hunters in their territories. The list of the residents you will get the opportunity of encountering include lions, leopards, warthogs, buffaloes and so much more.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for late breakfast and rest, followed by lunch. Thereafter head for a 2-3 hours’ boat cruise along Kazinga channel; offering great views of the landscape, crocodiles, hippos, elephants by the seashore and variety of birds.

Wrap up your day with delicious breakfast meal and overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure. Enroute equator experience.

After breakfast early in the morning, you will check out of the lodge for a 7-8 hours’ drive to Entebbe international airport or Kampala city. The driver-guide will stop over at the equator for photography, to watch the experiments, and have a lunch meal. You will be gladly dropped at the agreed point, either airport or hotel.
