Detailed trip.
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls national park.
After a warm welcome from our representative at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed with a Ugandan fresh juice before heading to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area on a 5-6 hours’ road trip.
Stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an hour to track the southern white rhinos before heading to your park lodge for refreshment, dinner, and a nap.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise.
Before departing the resort for the northern sector of the Park, where most game drives take place, a delectable breakfast meal is served. The game drive lasts for about 3-4 hours and takes you through several territories and breathtaking scenery. Aside from the distinctive vegetation, you’ll be on the lookout for uncommon hunters such as leopards and lions, as well as common residents including the water bucks, Cape Buffaloes, African elephants and much more.
Following a picture shoot, return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat excursion to the bottom of the world’s most powerful waterfall on earth. The tour lasts for about three hours and includes views of Nile crocodiles, hippos, and elephants quenching their thirst. There is also an option of hiking to the summit of the Falls, where you glance at the devil’s cauldron, the permanent rainbow, and the bubbling waters among others.
Day 3: Transfer to Fort portal.
After a dawn breakfast at the resort, you will depart for Fort Portal Tourism City for a journey to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes about 7-8 hours, with a lunch stop along the way and offers breathtaking views of the beautiful countryside, blooming plantations, and modern infrastructure.
The Kibale forest Jungle is home to around 13 different primates, the most famous of which are Chimpanzees. You’ll arrive at your lodge late in the evening after the trip for a delicious dinner, and a relaxing snooze.
Day 4: chimpanzee trekking and crater tours.
Make this morning exceptional by starting with a delicious breakfast meal. After that, proceed to the Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for registration and a ranger guide briefing. Chimpanzees reside deep in the jungle with nearly a dozen other primate species, including white and black Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, olive baboons and others. Don’t forget about the birds, and other forest creatures like elephants and buffaloes and rare plants.
A briefing session lasts around 30 minutes, and the hunt lasts between 2 and 5 hours, while you follow the plants, nests, and pleasant tunes. Chimpanzees act and behave like humans, with a distinct sound that sticks in the mind.
You’ll drive back to the lodge for lunch after spending an hour with your relatives, followed by a trip back to the lodge for lunch. You’ll have a tour of the surrounding crater lakes in the afternoon before returning to the resort for dinner and a relaxing snooze in the evening.
