5 Days Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park
This is medley of wonderful experiences! Welcome to the 5-day tour to Uganda’s most visited national park and home to the rare tree-climbing lions. Queen Elizabeth National park is the second largest national park, located in western part of Uganda.
It is host to a profusion of over 500 birds, prey, predators and carnivore birds. You will engage in an exciting game drive along the Kazinga channel, game drives with high chances of spotting any of the rare Africa’s Big 5 like lions, leopards and Cape Buffaloes. Additionally, you will track the chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge and visit the Katwe salt mine to learn how salt is processed traditionally. The trip starts and ends in Kampala/Entebbe international airport.
Detailed Trip.
Day 1: Arrival.
After landing at Entebbe international airport, our company representative will be glad to receive you to the pearl of Africa – Uganda, for a tour of its Medley of wonders. You will be briefed on issues regarding the travel aspects before you drive to your hotel around Kampala city for a rest. Entebbe international airport sits on the shores of Lake Victoria – the second-largest freshwater lake in the world. At sunset, enjoy dinner and peaceful sleep.
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After partaking of lip-smacking coffee at daybreak, check out of the hotel for a rewarding 6-7-hour drive to Kasese, where Queen Elizabeth national park is found. As you drive through the Mbarara route to western Uganda, Pay attention to local people, plantations, monuments and undulating hills. Have lunch enroute, but dinner and overnight will be served at the lodge late in the evening.
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise.
At daybreak, you will great your intestines with hefty breakfast meal at the lodge, followed by a 3-4-hour game drive around the kisenyi and other areas of the park. The game drive exercise offers an encounter with a variety of wildlife treasures, such as the undulating hills, lush tree vegetation, prey, and predators. Mammals you have a chance to spot include; Cape Buffaloes, African elephants, variety of antelope species and so much more.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon 3-hour boat cruise at Kazinga channel. On this trip, you will draw closer to schools of hippos, crocodiles and several other mammals. End the day will dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and salt mine tour.
After having a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, visit the underground Kyambura gorge, host to chimpanzees and other primates. Rangers will welcome and brief you about the chimpanzees and how to behave in their presence, then take you around the gorge while tracking them. The exercise can last for roughly 2-5 hours and return to the lodge for lunch. Chimpanzees are the closest animals to man, with scientists reporting up to 98% DNA similarity – a fact you will prove while taking photos and watching at a close range.
After Lunch, the evening will be dedicated to resting at the lodge and visiting Katwe salt mines to learn how salt is processed and mined. At sunset return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 5: Sunrise Game drive and Departure.
Wake up to a sunrise game drive in search of some of the mammals you should have wanted to spot but missed out on the previous day. It is a 3-hour search, with a view of the beautiful sight of the rising sunshine.
Some of the rare mammals you stand a chance of encountering include; hyenas, lions, and wild dogs among others. Get done and return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by a checkout of the lodge for a transfer to Entebbe international airport for your exit flight. There will be an enroute stopover at the equator to watch experiments proving existence of a marginal line, while taking photos and enjoying traditional lunch.
