12 Days Vacation in Uganda
Interestingly, in these twelve days of your Uganda wildlife safari, you will uncover the best Uganda can offer to the eyes. There are 5 national parks to be visited while spending nights in classic lodges and using safari vehicles.
In Murchison Falls national park you get to spot the world’s most powerful waterfall; at Queen Elizabeth National Park lookout for the tree-climbing Lions; Semuliki National park for the birds; Kibale Forest National park for the Chimps, Lake Mburo national park for the Impalas. The other places include Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for the Rhinos; Isunga cultural community, Batwa pygmies’ community, and the stunning Fort portal city. Pickup and drop-off will be at Entebbe international airport or Kampala city.
Detailed Trip.
Day 1: Entebbe international airport/Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park.
At wherever pickup point is comfortable to you, our company representative will be on time to pick you up. You will be briefed about the travel aspects, before hitting the road to Mbarara – home of Lake Mburo Park and its beauty. It is the nearest savannah park to Kampala city; only taking 3-4 hours of an amazing smooth drive.
You will arrive at the park for lunch, followed by a rewarding afternoon boat cruise at Lake Mburo. Lake Mburo covers a large portion of the park and has a profusion of birds, schools of Hippos, and crocodiles among others. It is a 3-hour experience before you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and Igongo cultural experience.
Start your morning with a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, and thereafter head for a 3-4 hours game viewing experience. This park is dominated by Antelopes such as the Impala, Oribis, waterbuck, and Jackson hartebeest among others. Other residents include elephants, warthogs, cape buffaloes, birds, and the captivating landscape.
After game viewing, you will return to the Lodge for Lunch, and some refreshments, followed by an afternoon experience at Igongo cultural center, where you will tour the cultural museum, and be entertained through the local dances. Igongo museum houses the cultural symbols of the different tribes of those living at Igongo the western part of the country. Satisfied with the day’s events, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for an amazing Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national Park-in the southwestern edge of the country. You will stop for photos and to watch the demonstrations at the equator line; prove the effect at the point where the earth is cut between the northern and southern hemispheres. Thereafter proceed with the scenic drive, through the rolling hills, busy towns, and scattered homesteads. You will stop for Lunch, whereas arriving at the misty Jungle of Bwindi late in the evening. You will check in to your lodge for some refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking and the Batwa pygmies visit.
Wake up to a sunrise breakfast meal at the lodge, and thereafter with pack lunch and other essential items, go to the park headquarters for the ultimate trekking exercise. This begins with a pre trekking briefing by the ranger guides, who explain the Gorilla dos and don’ts, before allocating you to a gorilla family and accompanying for the search. Gorillas are shy and gentle, though with huge bodies. They leave deep in the forest where they feed on the vegetation, stems, and fruits among others.
The trekking exercise may last for roughly 2-6 hours, plus an additional hour for taking photos, watching them play, and so much more. You will need to be fit and obedient to the trekking rules for a successful adventure.
Thereafter enjoy your lunch meal, before withdrawing from the Jungle to visit the Batwa pygmies for a cultural experience. These are renowned Hunters and gatherers, trying to adapt to a new way of life. You will laugh and talk with them, before calling it a day to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge, driving past the misty Jungle and the rolling hills to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will use the Ishasha sector, where for about two hours the eyes will be focusing on the treetops and branches for a sight of the tree-climbing lions. Thereafter lunch will follow in the same sector, before proceeding to your lodge in the park for refreshment, dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 6: Game drive and Boat cruise.
The game drive follows a sunrise breakfast meal at the lodge. It is a great time for coming face to face with some of the mammals, birds, primates, and primates you have longed to see, in addition to the breathtaking landscape. The notable residents include; lions, African elephants, Cape Buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, wild dogs and so much more, baboons, monkeys, and a variety of scattered unique trees.
Thereafter, return to the lodge for some refreshment followed by lunch. In the afternoon, have Lunch at the Kazinga channel, with views of the hippos, crocodiles, and birds among others. The sunset is welcomed with dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth n/park to Kibale Forest National Park.
You will have a relaxed breakfast meal today and then transfer to the magnificent tourism city-fort portal. The journey lasts for roughly 2-3 hours, followed by an early lunch and fort portal city. You will be taken to the tea plantations and crater lakes, before calling it a night at the comfort of your cozy lodge after dinner.
Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking and Isunga Cultural community.
At daybreak, you will greet your intestines with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, and the drive to the park headquarters for registrations and pre trekking briefing. There are over 13 rare primate species in this Jungle, more than any other place in the country. After the briefing session, the ranger guides will lead you deep into the Jungle with the chimpanzee nests, birds, Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, forest elephants, and so much more co-existing in the same place.
At one point you may think hope is gone, but the call of one of the primates at the corner ignites your spirit. You are given an hour to watch and take photos of the chimps and enjoying their territory; feeding on leaves, fruits, and stems.
After the encounter, move out to have lunch, followed by an evening relaxation and Fun at Isunga cultural community, with the local natures showcasing the beauty in embracing culture, dancing, and singing. The day ends with dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 9: Full day at Semuliki National park.
After a hefty breakfast meal at the lodge, enjoy a two-hour drive to Semuliki national park, with sights of the snowcapped mountain Rwenzori backdrop, plantations and undulating hills. You will arrive and register at the headquarters, where a ranger to guide you in the birding and nature activities will be waiting. For about 2 hours, you will be walking around the forest, searching for different birds in this haven, notably; the Turacos, cranes, egrets, sunbirds and Kori bustard birds among others.
The bird population here is about 450 species. You will have a lunch break, followed by an afternoon sightseeing and refreshment at the Sempaya hot springs, where you will listen to the stories regarding its formation and spiritual importance, boil an egg and take photos, before returning to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 10: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park.
First thing this day is a cup of coffee at daybreak, before checking out of the lodge for a transfer to the most powerful waterfalls on earth; Murchison Falls National Park. The drive offers great views of the breathtaking landscape, lush plantations and rolling hills.
Lunch will be enroute, whereas the 7-9 hours’ drive ends with a rewarding park entrance late in the evening with dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Game drive and Boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls.
After a peaceful sleep, depart the bed to the wilderness in the northern sector- were for approximately 3 hours, you will lookout for the hunters and the hunted hunting, laying a trap, or grazing. Besides the leopards, hyenas, and lions that are present yet so had to find; the rest are commonly seen, notably; the African elephants, Cape Buffaloes, warthogs, Kobs and waterbucks, birds such as the egrets, crowned cranes and turacos, and flora such as the whistling acacia. You will have bush break, with a view of the Albertine Nile, before lunch at a later hour.
In the afternoon, you will have a boat cruise to the bottom of water falls; the most powerful waterfall on Earth, with such deafening thunderous sounds.
Day 12: Departure. Through Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
Start your day with a yummy breakfast meal and then check out of the lodge for a transfer to Entebbe international airport or Kampala city for departure. In Nakasongola district, you will have a one-hour stopover for Rhino tracking at Rhino Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, where you will watch the rhinos, and learn more about them. They currently total more than 20 individuals.
