10 Days Uganda Camping Safari
Our 10 Days Uganda Safari begins from Kampala/Entebbe and leads to Uganda’s top tourist destinations that include Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks. In just 10 days, you will trek the endangered mountain gorillas, spot the big five animals, chimpanzees alongside other outstanding primates in Kyambura Gorge, encounter numerous bird species, undertake boat cruises and cultural tours among others.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival into Uganda, via Entebbe International Airport and drive to a Hotel in Kampala
Arrive into the country, via Entebbe International Airport with a warm welcome from our Company representative. Be briefed on the 10 days Uganda Safari and later dropped off at the Hotel in Kampala for dinner and slumber.
Day 2: Road trip to the magnificent Murchison falls National Park
You will meet our driver guide for a road trip to Murchison falls National Park, en-route make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for unforgettable rhino tracking adventure. Track the southern white rhinos in their natural habitat on foot in the company of an expert guide with Lunch along the way. Arrive the Park in the late afternoon and continue to the thrilling hike to the top of the falls. Enjoy the views of the Victoria Nile forcing its way through a narrow gorge of 7 meters and plunging 45 meters into a remnant Rift Valley hence creating the phenomenal Murchison falls. Dinner and slumber at one of the beautiful Safari Lodges overlooking the Nile or sweeping savannah plains.
Day 3: Full day tours of Murchison falls National Park through game drives and Launch Cruises.
Enjoy an early breakfast and undertake a fully-packed game drive in search of the early risers such as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas alongside other animals such as Hippos, Uganda Kobs, hartebeests, Defassa waterbucks, warthogs, Rothschild giraffes, duikers and bushbucks. After this exciting activity, return back to the Lodge for Lunch.
In the evening undertake the Delta Boat Cruise where more animals and most interestingly the shoebill storks will be seen, then dine and slumber at the same Camp/Lodge overlooking the Nile or savannah plains.
Day 4: Long road trip to Fort Portal Town
On this day we embark on the long road trip to Fort Portal Town after breakfast, with en-route Lunch and arrive the Tourism City in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After enjoying breakfast, we continue to the phenomenal Queen Elizabeth National Park for another outstanding game drive where more of Uganda’s wildlife species can be encountered. Be transferred to the Lodge for Lunch and later explore the beautiful Lake Katwe to learn about the process of local salt extraction as well as the nearby Lake Munyanyange for its large flocks of flamingos.
In the evening drive back to the Lodge with more animal views that include elephants, Uganda Kobs, common warthogs, Defassa waterbucks and many others. After this rewarding adventure on the fifth day, continue to your booked place of stay for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Trekking Kyambura Chimpanzees and afternoon Boat cruise in Kazinga Channel
After a delicious breakfast at the Camp or Lodge, attend briefing in Kyambura Gorge before finally tracking the chimpanzees that call this tinny forest home. After 1-2 hours of trekking chimpanzees, spend one hour in their midst but these Great Apes are not the only ones to be spotted in Kyambura but other primates and bird species. Enjoy Lunch at the Lodge and in the afternoon undertake a boat cruise in the spectacular Kazinga Channel. This is one of the most beautiful water bodies in this Park and is endowed with high concentrations of Hippos and crocodiles as well as water/wetland bird species. If time allows, continue for a tour of the nearby fishing village before enjoying dinner and overnight at the same Lodge.
Day 7: Connect to Ishasha sector, southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Connect to Ishasha sector after breakfast with chances of seeing the outstanding tree climbing lions. These remarkable lions rest/or hang on fig tree branches during hot afternoons and therefore the afternoon will find us in this sector where we spend the remainder of the day. More of the Park’s animals and birds will be encountered in this sector.
Day 8: Continue to the verdant Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Be up early for the last game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, haven to about half the World’s remaining population of Mountain gorillas. This Park is a renowned home to over 120 mammal species, about 350 bird species and reptiles, some of which you will see during your visit of the area.
Day 9: Trekking the outstanding Bwindi Gorillas and evening cultural tour
After breakfast, prepare yourself with packed Lunch and trekking gear before venturing into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to find the endangered mountain gorillas. Before undertaking this guided walk, first be briefed on the guidelines of the activity and when you venture into the jungles, be prepared for 1-4 hours of trekking. You will then be allotted one hour of interaction and photography. Anyone who has trekked the mountain gorillas will agree that it is the most life-changing and emotionally fulfilling activity with memories that will last a lifetime.
In the evening undertake a cultural tour where you will get an insight into the extraordinary way of life, culture and traditions of the Batwa people who live around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Retreat for the day’s activities and enjoy dinner/overnight at the same jungle accommodation facility.
Day 10: Journey back to Kampala or Entebbe
Following your mouth-watering breakfast, start the long road trip to Kampala or Entebbe Town for lunch along the way as well as stop at Uganda Equator or Mpambire Drum makers. Buy some souvenirs and continue with the journey to your final destination, arriving in the evening. This marks the end of our 10 days Uganda Safari.
