Diversity of wildlife in Akagera national park is one other wonder not to miss out. You will do a game drive, gorillas trekking, explore the twin lakes and an optional Kigali city tour. Pick up and drop off at Kigali city or Kigali international airport depending on your exit schedule. Volcanoes National Park is situated in the northern region – Musanze / Ruhengeri district whereas Akagera national park is located in the east, more accessible and near Kigali than other parks.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
On this day, our driver-guide will gladly welcome you for this 4 days Rwanda safari in Volcanoes and Akagera national parks. You will be briefed about whatever will transpire in these 4 days, before embarking on a transfer to Volcanoes national Park – home to the rare mountain gorillas found only in Africa.
The drive from Kigali to Volcanoes national park lasts roughly 2-3 hours, with views of the breathtaking landscape and flourishing plantations. You will enjoy great vibes all the way to your lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning gorilla trekking and twin lakes visit.
Wake up to a hefty breakfast meal at the lodge and then with a packed lunch depart to Volcanoes National park for a remarkable gorilla trekking adventure deep in the misty jungles. Tracking these rare apes is a rare adventure, offering a perfect opportunity of understanding the similarity between man and apes, as well as exploring the jungle.
After assigning a gorilla group, the first place to visit will be where they were last spotted the previous day and then to where they could be under the guidance of trackers, while following the broken tree branches, footsteps and created paths.
There is no designated path, only following the jungle rhythm until you find them. Upon locating the apes, you will be given an hour to take photos and observe the apes at a distance. Thereafter go for lunch break, before spending the evening at the twin lakes – taking photos, swimming and canoe rides. Then return to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park – afternoon game drive.
After a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, check out of your lodge for a drive east-wards to the hidden Akagera national park; home to a variety of birds, plants and mammals. The transfer offers captivating views of undulating hills, Rwandan natives carrying on with their daily chores and so much more.
A special welcome while entering the park will be made special with the small herds of antelopes, captivating landscape and the cool breeze. You will then proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Morning game drive and departure.
Brighten your morning with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge and then go for a three to four hours remarkable game experience. The park has stunning landscape, profusion of wildlife, and flora. Look out for the hunters and prey roaming around the park, such as; African elephants, rhinos, hippos, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, zebras, lions and leopards only seen occasionally.
Among the residents are several birds, reptiles and primates. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch, before checking out for a transfer to Kigali international airport for a flight to your next destination.
