Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our driver guide, who will cordially greet and welcome you. You will be informed about the trip, including details on what will happen throughout the 7-day journey in two of Africa’s most popular safari areas.
You will travel west through Fort Portal City to the lush jungle of Kibale Forest National Park, an exhilarating 6-7 hours’ journey while admiring the scenery. Lunch will be served en route, and you will arrive at the lodge in the evening for refreshment, dinner, and a relaxing snooze.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp / community walk.
You’ll wake up to a hearty breakfast at the resort before heading to the park headquarters for a wonderful 2- to 5-hour Chimpanzee trekking excursion, which will begin with a pre-trekking briefing by an expert ranger guide. Before guiding you on your hunt across the Jungle, the guide will discuss the trekking dos and don’ts. Chimpanzees spend their time in the trees playing, moving, and relaxing.
There are 12 other primates, bird, and plant species to see in the forest, so you’ll see more than just chimps. Simply by concentrating on your relatives, you will locate them and spend an hour with them, snapping photographs and asking questions, before taking a lunch break.
After some rest, you’ll continue on a guided nature walk through Bigodi Swamp, where you’ll see additional primates including baboons, residents going about their everyday lives, and unusual plants. You’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at sunset.
Day 3: Crater lakes tour and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Following a dawn breakfast at the resort, you will depart to explore some of the crater lakes and plantations surrounding Uganda’s tourism capital, Fort Portal. The trip to Queen Elizabeth takes around 1.5 hours and includes views of the beautiful terrain, plantations, and seasonal rivers originating from mount. Rwenzori. You’ll arrive in the park and check-in to your lodge for lunch and refreshments before relaxing or going on a guided nature walk for the rest of the evening. Dinner and a relaxing nap round off the evening.
Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise.
You will depart for a wonderful 3-4 game drive throughout the kisenyi area and other parts of the savannah grassland after an early morning wakeup call from the early birds. The ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to a diverse range of vegetation and fauna, including the rare tree climbing lions. The game viewing period reveals the breathtaking environment as well as many grazers and hunters in the savannah cover, including lions, Cape Buffaloes, African elephants, warthogs, and a variety of antelope species. Rare Rwenzori Turacos, guinea-fowls, and other birds are among the species on display.
After the game drive, you will enjoy a Bush breakfast experience, and then return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, there will be a 3-hour boat cruise at Kazinga channel, while watching the hippos, aquatic birds and crocodiles among others. When all is done, call off the day with dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park via Kabale.
This morning, you’ll start with a delicious breakfast at the resort before heading to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes about 5-6 hours and includes views of beautiful landscapes, undulating hills, and plantations.
The journey may pass through the Ishasha sector, depending on the available time. Here the guide will expect everyone’s eyes to be locked on the tree branches for a period of time in the hopes of finding a tree climbing lion leisurely resting in the gigantic fig trees. As the drive continues to the foggy jungles of Volcanoes national park, lunch will be served in Kabale or Kihiihi town. A breathtaking sunset welcomes you to the lodge for refreshments, dinner, and a relaxing snooze.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking.
This morning, have a delectable breakfast at the lodge before heading to the park headquarters for a wonderful Gorilla trekking experience. An expert ranger guide gives a pre-trekking lecture, explaining the trekking laws and assigning a maximum of eight people to a Gorilla group to track. Gorillas are both peaceful and thrilling creatures, with almost 98 percent of their genes resembling those of humans. They can only be found in the tropical jungles of Africa, where they make their home. The tracking experience lasts about 2-6 hours after the briefing, plus an extra hour for photographing and questions. Gorillas live in groups, each led by a dominant silverback who poses and protects the family members.
You will return to the resort for lunch after the hiking, followed by relaxed afternoon at the lodge or an afternoon Musanze cave excursion. Musanze Cave is a historically significant cave in Rwanda, located about 2 kilometers from the Volcanoes National Park. The day will end with a hearty dinner and a relaxing siesta at the resort.
Day 7: Kigali city tour and Departure.
After an early morning breakfast you will transfer to Kigali city for your last taste of lunch and Rwanda tour. The journey to Kigali city lasts for roughly 2-3 hours, with views of the rolling hills, local natives carrying on with their daily business and the green cover.
In Kigali, you will visit local markets to purchase some souvenirs to return with home in remembrance of the interesting experience and enjoy a lip-smacking lunch, before a drive to Kigali international airport for your exit flight.
End of safari.
