Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Leave Kampala for Kitgum Town, Northern Uganda.
As we leave Kampala for Northern Uganda, take in the breathtaking views along the way-sweeping savannah plains, roadside markets and the countryside and get ready for an adventure for a lifetime. There will be a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola district (Kampala-Gulu Highway) for a moment with Uganda’s Rhino population in the wild. After this thrilling wildlife encounter, refuel with lunch at Kabalega Diners then continue until the Town of Kitgum.
Given the long drive (9-10 hours), we shall spend overnight in this town then proceed to the Park the next day. Therefore, settle into the reserved place of lodging for dinner and slumber.
Day 2: Sunset Safari in Kidepo Valley National park
Have a proper breakfast and pack your bags as we proceed with the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. The sweet melodies and spectacular sceneries will alert you when you arrive this extraordinary African wilderness. After settling into the booked accommodation, begin your journey of discovery by undertaking a sunset game drive through the sweeping landscapes of Kidepo Valley National Park. Expect views of Rothschild giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, Oribis, Topis, Defassa waterbucks, elands and many others. This game drive proceeds into the night where you are likely to see the spotted hyenas, lions and leopards, then return to the Lodge.
Day 3: Full day safari in Kidepo Valley National Park-real African wilderness
Enjoy breakfast then spend an entire day searching for the unique animals that call this Park home, especially four of the big five animals (lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants), spotted hyenas, cheetahs, Elands, warthogs, Uganda Kobs, serval cats, caracals, Defassa waterbucks, African wild dogs, Oribis, striped hyenas and many others.
Listen to the sounds of birds and spot them as they freely roam around their natural environment. Look out for the Ostriches and many others during this journey of discovery. Lunch will be at the Lodge and the day will be ended with a community visit in the nearby Karamojong village to experience their unique way of life.
Day 4: Kidepo Valley National Park – Murchison falls National Park.
This awe-inspiring drive takes you through the stunning landscapes of North-Eastern and Northern Uganda, the beautiful Karuma falls with occasional stops for photography. Arrive in Murchison falls National Park in the afternoon hours where you will settle into the accommodation and have late lunch.
Day 5: Full day of wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls National Park.
On this day, we have breakfast and leave the safari lodge for a fully-packed game drive. Spend 3-4 hours driving through the savannah plains, woodlands and River banks of Murchison falls National Park dotted by lions, Hippos, spotted hyenas, jackals, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, common warthogs, buffaloes, Oribis, Jackson’s hartebeests, Olive baboons and many others. Also relish the panoramic views and return to the Lodge at about 11:00am for refreshment and later lunch.
In the afternoon continue your wildlife safari in Murchison falls National Park, this time through a boat cruise that lasts up to 3 hours through Victoria Nile. Expect sights of Hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and Uganda Kobs especially along the banks. Highlight of this boat cruise is the breathtaking view of Murchison falls whereby photography will be taken at its bottom. Day 6: Departure.
