9 Days Uganda Honeymoon Safari
To the things we love, let us take you to the unspoiled savannah parks and tropical Jungles of the pearl of Africa in just nine days. The accommodation, meals, and transportation to be used are all so comfortable and lovely.
We take you to Murchison Falls National Park for game drive, boat cruise and nature walk; Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp walk; Semuliki National Park for exciting birds and hot springs; Queen Elizabeth National Park for the mammals and then the misty jungles of Bwindi impenetrable National Park for the rare Mountain Gorillas-man’s closest relative. The trip starts and ends at Entebbe international airport.
Detailed Trip.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – through Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
Get a warm welcome by our expert driver-guide at either a hotel in Kampala city or Entebbe international airport. He will greet you with some fresh delicious juice, before hitting the road to the northwestern Albertine region of Uganda. The drive lasts for roughly 5-6 hours, through a well tarmacked road, marked by busy towns, plantations and lively natives.
You will have a one-hour stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track the rare white Rhinos, before proceeding to Masindi town for lunch. Rhinos are one of the most endangered mammals on earth and can only be found at this sanctuary in Uganda. You will thereafter head to your lodge in or outside the park for dinner and a night of peaceful sleep.
Day 2: Game drive and a launch cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls.
From bed to the breakfast table, and then a transfer to the northern sector of the park, where you will seek to catch the sight of the mammals such as the lions, elephants, warthogs, Uganda Kobs, water bucks, zebras, giraffes and many more, birds such as the crested cranes, Turacos and egrets as well as reptiles and primates like the baboons. The game drive lasts for about 4 hours, followed by picnic lunch at a campsite.
In the afternoon, get to the Nile and have a leisurely cruise for approximately three hours with views of aquatic birds, mammals such as the hippos, Nile crocodiles and elephants among others. You will be taken to the foot of the world’s most powerful waterfalls where you will capture the unfolding and listen to the strong thunders. Take photos, watch and get amazed, before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
You will Wake up this morning with a heavy breakfast meal at the lodge, and then transfer to the primate world-Kibale forest national park in the west. This is an 8-9 hour scenic drive, with views of the captivating landscape, rolling hills, busy towns, and dotted homesteads.
You will have lunch at the Gardens restaurant in Fort portal – Uganda’s only tourism city, before proceeding to your lodge, arriving in the evening for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Kibale forest national park: chimp tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk.
You will wake up to a hefty breakfast at the lodge and then drive to the park headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing. The briefing exercise lasts for about three hours, whereas finding the chimpanzees takes about 6 hours. On the way to meet the chimps, you will spot the various flora, birds, chimpanzee nests and primates such as the white and black colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, baboons and so much more.
There are 13 recorded primate species in the Jungle, and for an hour, your eyes and ears will be glued to the sounds and sights of these exciting apes, capturing their unique characteristics, and habits. Thereafter return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a visit to Bigodi wetlands, where you will spend about two hours watching more primates notably baboons, birds and interacting with the local natives. At sunset return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Birding and hot springs tour in Semuliki National Park.
Start your day with a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, and then drive to the park headquarters for a full day experience at Uganda’s birders’ haven. With over 450 bird species, you will success spend hours watching the birds at the treetops and the ground; flying, feeding, and singing. These are not limited to the flying fish-catcher, Sitatunga, cranes, love birds, egrets and sunbirds among others.
You will have lunch in the area and then spend the evening taking photos, watching and relaxing at the magnificent Sempaya hot springs, as you will try to taste an egg boiled at this spot. It is a female-like feature, pouring hot water. Afterward, you will return to the lodge at fort portal city, thereafter end the day with dinner overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon boat cruise.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will checkout and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park – a medley of wonders. You have the option to explore some crater lakes around fort portal city and then with a view of the green plantations and breathtaking landscape, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving with some game views.
Have lunch in the park, and then spend 3 hours of the evening having a boat cruise at the Kazinga channel. You will take in the cool lake breeze and watch giant elephants, hippos and crocodiles among others. The day ends with dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
At daybreak, you will depart the lodge very early in the morning for a sunrise game drive across the kisenyi plains and other parts of the park, including the Ishasha sector hosting sought-after tree climbing lions. For 3-4 hours, you will seek to find the night hunting returning to their hideouts as the day grassers parade at their territories. These residents you have a chance of encountering include; lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, Buffaloes and warthogs among others; birds such as the Turacos and cranes, primates and reptiles.
Thereafter have bush breakfast in the wild, before returning to the lodge for early lunch and then checkout for a transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park via Ishasha sector. The drive offers a great view of captivating landscapes and a welcome to the misty tropical forest. Check-in to your lodge late in the evening, have a yummy dinner meal and overnight stay.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking and Batwa pygmies tour.
After an early morning breakfast meal at the lodge, drive to the park headquarters for a pre trekking briefing by the expert ranger guides. Through the tree trucks, hilly and sloppy terrain, into the heart of the jungle, each minute of tracing for the gentle apes counts. The activity lasts for roughly 2-6 hours, depending on the direction the apes have taken and your speed. The rangers help you identify the different species of birds, trees and mammals, found in the same forest. After finding the apes, you will be rewarded with one hour with your cousins – the gorillas, taking a closer look at the silverbacks, nursing mothers and the happy youngsters.
After gorilla trekking, have a lunch break, followed by the visit to Batwa Pygmies, whose history is shaped by their ancient identity as hunters and gatherers. You will tour the community, listen to the local stories, and then return to the lodge for a sunset dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 9: Departure.
Start your morning with a yummy breakfast at the lodge and then checkout for a departure to Entebbe international airport with an en-route stopover for lunch and photography at the magnificent Equator. The equator crosses only thirteen countries in the world, greatly influencing climatic conditions.
